Traffic on Keystone Avenue will temporarily be diverted to Rangeline Road on April 3 to 5.

Press Release from the City of Carmel

Due to the complexity of the drainage structure crossing under Keystone, there will be a full closure of Keystone between 116th Street and Carmel Drive from Friday, April 3, through Sunday, April 5. We chose to close this section of road during one of the weekends that Carmel Clay Schools are on Spring Break to take advantage of reduced traffic volumes. We also felt it was safer than shifting all Keystone traffic to only one side of Keystone while reducing travel to one lane in each direction over a period of at least two weekends.

The closure will take place beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday evening and then reopen to traffic prior to the morning rush hour on Monday, April 5. Please be advised that construction crews will be working around the clock to complete all work in this area.

The 116th Street and Carmel Drive Advanced Maintenance of Traffic project is currently installing drainage infrastructure and the frontage road system that will expedite the construction of the 116th and Carmel Drive interchanges. This project also allows for the frontage road system to accept Keystone Avenue traffic while excavation takes place to construct bridges and the new Keystone travel lanes.
