The Carmel High School student newspaper received an All-American ranking from the National Scholastic Press Association for the 2007-2008 school year. This is the highest honor rating given.

In addition, the HiLite earned marks of distinction in four of the five categories awarded. These were in coverage and content; photography, art and graphics; layout and design; and leadership. In total, the paper earned 3765 points out of 4000 possible points.

This recognition continues the tradition of an already award-winning publication striving to maintain a strong publication.
