Sophomore Curtis Church died in the hospital during the late morning on Sept. 2. His two siblings, junior Megan Church and freshman Summer Church, are also students at this school.
“(Curtis) fought a battle,” Principal John Williams said of his life-long health problems. Although he had been affected by illness for much of his life, the death is still difficult to deal with, Williams said.
According to Williams, Curtis did receive a number of visitors during his recent stay in the hospital, including himself and other members of this school’s staff, who came to support Curtis.
As stated in the announcement, Counselors are available in the counseling center, and Williams said that he encourages students to talk to them if they need.
Williams said, “It makes us all realize how fragile life is, and there’s a process we all must go through to get through that.”
