Men’s track runners ready for Sectional

The men’s track team will begin Sectional today in the Carmel group. Twelve other schools are competing against Carmel including: Fishers, Guerin Catholic, Hamilton Southeastern, Hamilton Heights, Lebanon, Noblesville, Sheridan, Tipton, Tri-Central, University, Westfield and Zionsville. Read more

Mens’ track looks to MIC meet

Tomorrow, the men’s track team will compete in the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference (MIC) tournament at Ben Davis.

William Ellery, men’s track head coach, said, “(The) MIC really kicks off our tournament season; we have MIC, then County the next week, then Sectionals a week and a half later, followed by Regionals then State. We are trying to defend our County Championships.” Read more

The baseball team hopes to find an answer to the age-old question on its way to a State championship

For the past three years, pitcher and senior Kyle Lloyd has watched as the varsity team has cruised through the regular season—winning conference championships in 2006 and 2008—and then faltering in the Sectional playoffs. This year, Lloyd said he hopes to help lead the team to heights it hasn’t reached in the history of this school: a State championship.

“Our goal is to win State,” Lloyd said. “We want to make it all the way.” Read more

Many Americans have long considered football to be the roughest contact sport in the country. But for senior Taylor Wagner, rugby, especially with its lack of padding, is far rougher. And Wagner, who plays both football and rugby, said he can’t imagine it any other way.

“I love the guys I play with and it’s just an awesome sport. It’s real fun to play. It’s laid back, but at the same time, there are times you need to get serious about it. I love how everybody can have their own chance to score and everybody can do everything on the field at once,” Wagner said. Read more
